He began sculpting at an early age. In 1980, he helped create the monumental public sculpture “La Estampida”, which stands at a busy intersection in his hometown, near the emblematic Riu Hotel building.Jonás Gutiérrez is known in Puerto Vallarta for his monumental 2.4 meter high bronze and obsidian sculpture “El Sutil Come piedras”, which was installed on the Malecón and inaugurated on October 14, 2006 which depicts a magician with an obsidian stone stomach.Today, Jonás Gutiérrez Castillo has exhibited in the art space of the Mexican television network Televisa, where he presented a series of new characters.Today, he has exhibited in the art space of the Mexican television network Televisa, where he presented a series of new characters.
